This split air conditioner trainer (AR-013) is designed to allow investigating operation of split air conditioning unit with a reversing valve (Heating and Cooling). The trainer demonstrates the components of a real split air conditioner and is supplied with faults switches to simulate the most common faults of split air conditioner.
- The educational unit represents the operating characteristics of split-system air conditioning with heat pump capability and allows trainees to troubleshoot most common faults of split air conditioner.
- The split air conditioner trainer consists of a sturdy stand that represents real indoor and outdoor units in the split air conditioner and a large training panel.
- The indoor unit at the upper part of the educational unit contains an evaporator coil, filters, no frost sensor and a thermostat, while the outdoor unit at the lower part includes a compressor, a condenser coil, expansion devise (capillary tube), filter dryer, cycle reversing valve and a fan.
- The trainer is also provided with a reverse valve to allow trainees to study how the direction of refrigerant flow can be changed so the heat pump refrigeration cycle is changed from cooling to heating or vice versa.
- The training panel includes sections of operation, measurement, fault switches, isolation switches and the split air conditioner wiring diagram.
- The operation section includes a main ON OFF switch of the trainer, an emergency switch, and a power meter to measure and display supply frequency, voltage, current, power factor of the trainer.
- The measurement panel includes a schematic diagram to the refrigeration cycle with main mechanical components of split air conditioning (compressor, condenser, evaporator an expansion valve) with four pressure gauges and temperature displays through the cycle to measure and display the pressure and temperature respectively at 4 different points; upstream and downstream of the condenser and upstream and downstream of the capillary tube.
- The measurement panel is also provided with Heating mode button and Cooling mode button by which trainees activate the reversing valve that in turn change the operation of the heat pump from heating to cooling or vice versa to investigate the heat pump characteristics through the pressure gauges and temperature digital displays.
- The wiring diagram displays the electrical connections of the internal unit and outdoor unit and how they are connected to each other.
- The wiring diagram has a lot of safety terminals in order to perform electrical measurements to troubleshoot the refrigeration cycle components and electrical components such as relays, fuses, coils and sensors using an external multi-meter (Not Included)
- The faults panel includes switch to simulate the most common faults in split air conditioning system.
- The isolation panel contains switches to isolate each component of the conditioning system electrically for troubleshooting its fault.
- The split air conditioning unit is provided with a remote-control unit to set the desired temperature, control fan operation, choose required cooling mode, switch ON/OFF the device and set the timer on the required time and control the position of the louver.
