The combination forced air and hydronic heating trainer (AR-023) tends to demonstrate the control of the air temperature of a chamber using different air conditioning systems. The trainer is mainly composed of four separate educational units, which are the chiller air-conditioning System, the Refrigerated air conditioning System, the Air Duct System and the Air Conditioning Unit Chamber. The trainer is provided with an interactive software which allows the control and simulation of various air conditioning processes.
- The trainer is composed of four separate educational units, which are the chiller air-conditioning system, the refrigerated air-conditioning system, the air duct system and the air conditioning unit chamber, connected to each other using connection hoses and connection cables.
- The trainer can be used in simulating & controlling the processes of heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification.
- The trainer allows the study & understanding of these processes using the psychrometric chart.
- The refrigerated air-conditioning system and the chiller air-conditioning system are considered as the source of air conditioning used in the experiments, but only one of them is connected at a time.
- They can be connected to the air-conditioning unit chamber directly ( in this case the control is done locally from the unit itself) or connected to the air Duct system which in turn is connected to the unit chamber (in this case the control is done remotely from the duct system).
- Both of these units are supplied with an external temperature sensor, that is connected with the air-conditioning unit chamber, which allows monitoring the chamber air temperature.
- the Chiller Air Conditioning System is designed to demonstrate the operation of the chilled water system.
- The unit can be operated in either the cooling or heating mode.
- The unit is mainly divided into 3 parts, the chilled-water air-conditioning unit, the control panel and the air- conditioning output.
- The unit includes a condenser, a condenser fan, a compressor, a Freon tank, an evaporator coil and an expansion valve.
- The unit is supplied with two water tanks, one for the heating cycle and the other for the cooling cycle and two water pumps.
- The unit is provided with an instantaneous heater, temperature sensors, pressure gauges, pressure switches, digital indicators and LEDs.
- The unit's control panel includes the air conditioner controller and the main operation switches of the trainer, including the unit main ON/ OFF switch, refrigeration ON/ OFF switch, emergency switch and local/ remote operation Switch.
- The selected mode either cooling or heating is shown on the control panel using indication lamps.
- The air-conditioning output contains mainly a fan coil unit and a duct converter.
- Refrigerated air-conditioning system is designed to demonstrate the operation of the heat pump air conditioning method, it can be operated in either the cooling or heating mode.
- The unit can be operated either using the air-cooled or the water-cooled condensing units.
- The unit consists of a vertical panel including the control panel, gauges and digital indicators, in addition to a horizontal panel including the water cooled condensing unit, while the lower part of the unit includes the air –cooled condensing unit.
- The control panel includes ON/OFF switch of the unit, ON/OFF switch of the conditioning system, EMG switch, pressure gauges, digital indicators, sensors, LEDs, air/ water conditioning system selector switch, local/ remote selector switch, in addition to the control unit of the conditioning unit.
- The unit is provided with 4 pressure switches, two of them are high pressure switches and the other two of them are low pressure ones. That is to protect and control the inlet and outlet pressure of the compressors of both the air and water-cooled condensing unit.
- The trainee can choose heating mode or cooling mode from the wired air conditioning controller or the remote control and its receiver.
- The unit is supplied with a reverse switch is used to reverse the operation of both the air-cooled refrigeration system and the water-cooled refrigeration system from the heating mode to the cooling mode and vice versa.
- Air duct system can be used as the intermediate unit between one of the two systems (Refrigerated air-conditioning system or chiller air-conditioning system) and the air-conditioning unit chamber, in addition to study of the cooling, heating, humidifying and dehumidifying processes included in the air conditioning systems.
- The duct system hoses are made of thermal insulation material (aluminum foil and glass fiber), they are very elastic and portable, which makes it easy to connect the air duct system with the other units of the Combination Forced Air & Hydronic Heating Trainer.
- The ducts at the top of the Air Duct system are made of Galvanized sheet iron.
- The ducting system is provided with three damper gates whose position can be controlled, they are connected to a servomotor and a chain to control the opening of the three gates at the same time
- The air duct system is supplied with a control panel that is used to control the air conditioning after connecting one of the two source units (Refrigerated air-conditioning system or chiller air-conditioning system) and connecting the air conditioning unit chamber.
- The unit is provided with two USB sockets, one used for connection with the other units of the combination forced air & hydronic heating Trainer and The other USB Socket is used for connection with the PC.
- The system temperatures and relative humidity are measured using various sensors and displayed on the digital indicators in the control panel.
- The unit control panel includes operation switches, digital indicators and LEDs.
- Air-conditioning unit chamber simulates the chamber being air – conditioned, so it allows to examine the usage and effect of different air conditioning systems.
- The unit consists of four acrylic plates 2*1*1 m (1 cm thickness) fixed on a robust steel structure.
- The chamber is provided with supply and return grills to be connected to the input and output of the desired Air-Conditioning System.
- The Unit Chamber is equipped with a control panel that includes ON/OFF switch, Emergency switch, sensible load switch, latent load switch, sensible load adjustment knob, LEDs and digital indicators to display the measured values of temperature and relative humidity.
- The acrylic used for the chamber is thermostable.
- The Unit Chamber is provided with a temperature & relative humidity sensor, and a USB socket for connection with the Air Duct System.
- The Unit Chamber contains a humidifier that is used to generate steam to simulate the latent load and a heater with a fan, fixed to one of the chamber walls, that is used to generate heat to simulate the sensible load.
- The four educational units of the trainer are provided with schematic diagrams to allow trainees to understand the air conditioning cycles.
- Each of the four units has a connection socket to connect them with each other using a certain cable.
- The trainer is supplied with a LabView software to simulate various air conditioning processes.
- The measured values of temperature and relative humidity can be displayed on the LabView Software via connection with the PC using the USB socket.
