The alternator model trainer is designed to provide a complete simulation of a vehicle alternator which is a major component of the vehicle’s charging system that generates the electric power in the vehicle. Trainees are able to observe the construction, internal parts of a real automotive alternator model and its working mechanism.

                                     
  • The educational unit is designed with a front panel that accommodates all the equipment necessary for operation
  • On the top of the trainer, there are the alternator and motor surrounded by a transparent protective cover that allows the trainee to observe the experiments safely.
  • At the bottom of the trainer, there are four different electrical loads and a battery.
  • The trainer comprises the most important equipment of an automotive charging system: an alternator, electric motor and a battery.
  • The operation panel has a wide variety of components including: load switches, fuse box, battery charger switch, ignition switch, digital displays, battery indicator lamps, potentiometer, and battery lamp.
  • It also contains an ON /OFF main power switch and an emergency switch to disconnect the trainer in case of anything un expected happens.
  • The ignition switch is used to start the simulation of the car that works identically to a real key in that it connects the starter to the battery, allowing the battery to send a powerful surge of electricity to the starter when the car is being started.
  • A starter module indication lamp is provided to indicate the operating state of the module once the system is turned on.
  • The alternator is used to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy so that the battery can be charged and replenished and other electrical components in the car.
  • The battery switch provides the ability of connecting and disconnecting the battery at any time during the experiments.
  • An electric motor is used to simulate rotational input that would have come from the engine.
  • The electric motor speed can be controlled by a knob fitted in the front panel of the model.
  • The trainer is designed with terminals for the battery and the alternator diode for testing purposes.
  • Four digital displays are provided to display the measuring values of the charging voltage, charging current, motor speed, and load current.
  • The unit allows connecting an external multi-meter.
  • A schematic diagram of the alternator components is designed on the front panel of the trainer.
  • This diagram provides a presentation of the internal parts of the alternator such as field coil, pulley, bearing, armature, voltage regulator, stator, etc.
  • Additionally, a schematic diagram for the electrical circuit of the starting/charging system is designed at the right side of the trainer. This can help trainees learn and analyze the operating principle of the system.
  • All symbols, drawings, etc. are printed to the trainer using ultraviolet technology on aluminum sheets, full-colored and suitable for outdoor purposes (weather resistance).
