Laboratory PC and Multimeter

Power Electronics training system is a benchtop trainer serves the purpose of testing circuits and principles commonly recurrent in the field of power electronics, transducers and controls. The trainer introduces the student to the most common power electronic components (power transistor, power diode, amplifier) as well as many power electronic devices used in numerous applications today (power rectifier, solid state relays or SSRs, thermal sensing devices). It also provides a troubleshooting system that enables detecting faults in various electronic components, circuits, and systems used in machine applications under realistic conditions.

  • The benchtop training system covers all the principles of converter circuit analysis that are introduced and developed for finding the steady state voltages, current, and efficiency of power converters.
    The trainer teaches how to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, circuits, and systems used in machine applications.
  • The trainer has a wide variety of components including thermocouples, thermistors, electronic sensors, AC and DC power supplies, ΔV potentiometer, resistive temperature detectors, solid state relays, transistor and operational amplifiers, field effect transistors, silicon-controlled rectifiers, triacs, phase control circuits.
  • Each equipment represents the support of the necessary devices for implementing the experimental program.
  • Utilizing analog control, trainees can be fully familiarized with power converter structure for applying topology such as motor speed control, temperature & speed measurements, etc.
  • Additionally, they can test the output of a current limiter, selecting a solid-state relay, installing a capacitive proximity sensor & connecting two configurations of openloop operational amplifier circuits.
  • The trainer is also provided with a troubleshooting software that enables practicing on how to evaluate, and repair various electronic circuitry. Up to 30 faults can be examined throughout the software.
  • The combination of power, electronics, and control considers the basic foundation of the system to allow perform many related modern applications of solid-state electronics to the control and conversion of electric power.
  • These applications are switching power supplies, analog and discrete sensing, solid state relays, transistors, PWM control, and speed motor control.
  • It also offers the graphic representation standardized electric symbol of all used components.
  • All the components are inserted on the benchtop with insulated connection terminals for safety purposes.
  • Digital displays are provided to present an accurate reading of the system parameters thus, trainees can easily monitor the experimental system.
