  • Observation of the internal structure and components of both VE-type diesel engine and (5 F + 1 R) manual transmission.
  • Lower group of indication LEDs: Demonstrating the sequence of events (intake, compression, power, and exhaust) during the four-strokes in each cylinder of the VE-type diesel engine.
  • Upper group of indication LEDs: observing the simulation of fuel injection inside cylinders involving injectors, intake valve, fuel-injection nozzle, and exhaust valve in each cylinder.
  • Demonstrating the operation of the diesel engine and manual transmission together and how the power is transmitted from the engine through the clutch to the transmission input shaft and then to the propeller shaft.
  • Observing the engaging and disengaging process of each gear at each shift position using the provided gear shift stick.

The training unit featuring a real VE-type diesel engine and a manual transmission (EDE101) attached to each other by means of a clutch plate exactly as the case in real cars. Both VE-Type diesel engine and manual transmission are sectioned and showcased for educational purposes. The trainer is designed to enable observing the internal structure and components of the engine and transmission to help understanding their operation and lay the foundation for learning the maintenance of both systems. Additionally, an electric motor is attached to the system setup to provide the motion required to study the engine and transmission interconnection and how the power is transmitted from the engine through the clutch to the transmission input shaft and then to the propeller shaft.

  • The educational unit featuring a sectioned four-cylinder diesel VE - type diesel engine attached to a manual transmission both mounted on a robust frame.
  • The trainer allows the trainee to observe the injection order of the engine, the sequence of the 4 main strokes of the engine, how longitudinal motion is transformed into rotational motion by pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft.
  • The trainer allows the trainee to observe the operation of the valve train and the timing assembly, the construction of the engine block, cylinder head, crankcase, intake and exhaust systems, and the shape and profile of most diesel engine components.
  • The trainer is provided with an electric motor to generate the expected rotation coming from the engine, in addition to a cutaway of manual transmission of five speeds and a reverse speed.
  • The gear shift stick of the transmission is added to allow trainees to control the speed of the transmission output.
  • The trainer is provided with an ON/ OFF switch for the electric motor, emergency switch, phase sequence error indication LED and power indication LED.
  • The control unit is also provided with four rows of indication LEDs, each row has a specific colour to indicate a specific stroke at each cylinder depending on the cylinder position at a certain moment.
  • Another two rows of indication LEDs that light up to indicate the status of both inlet and outlet valve of each cylinder.
  • The trainer is provided with a schematic diagram showing the internal structure of the engine.
  • The flywheel and alternator are also provided to introduce trainees to their functions and to demonstrate how the energy generated from the power stroke is stored to be transferred to the following strokes.
