Maintenance and calibration training system (MSM-016) aims at providing the required knowledge about the definition of “control loop”. Control loop consists of all physical components and control functions needed to adjust or maintain the value of a measured process variable (PV) to a desired value, or setpoint (SP) including: primary element/sensor, transducer & transmitter, signals, controller & actuator. The system focuses on the transmission process of both pneumatic and electrical signals generated in transducers (electrical) and control valves (pneumatic) control loop elements in addition to the calibration & testing of different corresponding electrical and pneumatic components.
- System can demonstrate the transmission behavior of electrical and pneumatic signals in the control loop components including transducers and control valves.
- The system is provided with different sensors, transducer /transmitter, controllers & actuators to constitute a complete control loop.
- Since there are two types of signals in industrial automation, the training system is provided with components to generate and test both types.
- System is provided with two pressure regulators with manometers to create pneumatic signals and calibrate manometers at high pressure.
- The pneumatic output signals from control loop components can be measured using two precision manometers.
- Low pressures are generated for manometer calibration using a height-adjustable tank with scale.
- Electrical and pneumatic signals can be generated to effect actuation of the individual control loop components.
- The trainer is provided with a precision measuring technique that permits recording the output signals from the control loop components.
- The pressure regulators can also be used to calibrate at higher pressures.
- Auxiliary power sources for components that require an electrical supply are provided at the form of DC voltage sources.
- Direct current signals can be sent and measured with two controllers.
- Two precision manometers are used to measure of pneumatic output signals from control loop components.
