This educational unit (PL102) is designed to simulate a household drinking water installation, this unit aims at illustrating how drinking water pipework -for one house- functions and how it is protected against backflow of waste water. A main unit is attached to the inlet and outlet of the trainer to drain or supply the unit with water in a closed cycle.

  • This trainer can be used to investigate the function and operational behavior of safety devices for protection of back flow, as well as demonstration of pipework and fittings of a household drinking water installation.
  • The unit is supplied with tap installment and a shower head to represent water supply in residential homes.
  • A main unit consists of a tank and a pump is connected to the inlet and outlet of this unit to supply the unit with water and discharge the drain water to the main unit tank in a closed cycle system.
  • The inlet water passes through a water meter to measure the delivered volume of water.
  • Non return valves are installed along the pipes to prevent the backflow of the water stream.
  • The unit is supplied with two lines for water, the first one is constructed for cold water stream while the second one is designed for the hot water stream.
  • Cold and hot water streams pass through pressure regulating valves to control the outlet pressure.
  • Heating tank is installed for the supply of hot water. Recirculation pump is installed to make sure that the water stays heated.
  • A safety cycle is constructed and attached to the heating tank that consists of Safety valve and solenoid to discharge excess hot water in order to decrease the temperature.
  • The heating tank is supplied with temperature sensor, pressure gauge and level sensor.
  • Ball valves are installed on pipeline to allow or prevent water from flowing to the heating tank.
  • Recirculation valve is installed in the hot water stream pipeline to allow or prevent the return water from flowing back to the tank.
  • Two vents are constructed to discharge air from the cycle.
  • Drain basin is made out of acrylic material.
